VRHA Show & Award Rules

VRHA Beginner Reiner


  • Amateur/non pro with less than $25 in lifetime earnings, 50 youth or green points.
  • Allowed to use one or two hands, must stay consistent throughout pattern
  • Can do two or four spins, must do the same in both directions
  • Simple lead change allowed
  • Trainer allowed in arena as you show.
  • Rider must be current VRHA member in good standing
  • Rider and Horse owner must be current members to be eligible for week-end and year-end high point awards

VRHA Green Reiner


VRHA Green Youth 18 & under, VRHA Green Adult 19-49 and VRHA Green Prime Time 50 & up

  • NRHA Green Reiner Rules Apply (NRHA Handbook)
  • Rider must be current VRHA member
  • Rider and Horse owner must be current members to be eligible for week-end and year-end high points awards

VRHA Green Horse


  • Horse must be NRHA licensed
  • Rider must be current NRHA member
  • Open to horses three years and up with less than $500 earned or 50 youth points
  • Horse with no NRHA or VRHA earnings or breed points in prior year, may stay in class until end of year

VRHA Weekend High Point Awards


  • To qualify for VRHA weekend high point awards you must be a VRHA member before you enter the class

VRHA Year-End High Point Awards


  • To qualify for VRHA year-end awards, members must show in at least 50% of classes offered for the year
  • Rider and Horse owners must be VRHA members in good standing
  • Points are counted from time of membership
  • Points are awarded on a one rider-one horse combo
  • Points are calculated using NRHA Regional Affiliate qualification system
  • No points for a zero score, in the event of tie, earnings will determine the standings.

  • VRHA Memorial Day Classic (June)
  • VRHASummer Slide (July)

No year-end awards for all aged events… NRHA rules apply
